For too long, the relationship between the Los Santos Police Department and the people we serve has been defined by a wall of glass. There has been a lingering fear that every siren signifies an end to your story, and every interaction with a badge is a fast track to a processing room. That ends today.
I have been brought in with a singular, unwavering mandate: to transition this department from a force of apprehension to a pillar of partnership. Going forward, the LSPD will operate under a new philosophy of Mutual Respect and Discretion. We are not here to "win" or to simply fill quotas; we are here to facilitate the life and pulse of this city.
On Traffic & Interaction: A flashing light in your rearview mirror should not be a cause for panic. If you pull over, engage with our officers, and treat the uniform with respect, you will find that respect returned in kind. We are looking for compliance and conversation, not just a reason to seize your property.
On Community Engagement: We want to be part of the city’s story. If we see a crowd gathering, our first instinct shouldn't be "disperse," it should be "what’s the occasion?" If you’re "handing out leaflets" on a street corner, we don’t want to see your ID—we want to know where the party is.
The Golden Rule: The math is simple. If you cooperate and give us the opportunity to engage with you, you will find a department that is lenient, fair, and approachable. However, the badge still carries weight. We will remain a firm deterrent to those who seek to cause genuine harm, but to the everyday citizen looking to make their way in Los Santos, we are your allies.
We are tearing down the "Arrest First" mentality. We are here to protect your safety, yes—but more importantly, we are here to protect the spirit of this community. Let’s start talking again.
